It would just be great for Ren owners to not have to leave the Ren surface and still be able to hopscotch all around their DAW+VST+Ren session with the great Ren surface. It would be optimum to just be able to toggle between Ren mode and controller mode, and if there's a map making app separate where you've made your loadable maps prior to be at the ready for the toggle switches, it would be very smooth. Plus the fact people don't want to need a dinner table sized workspace by needing to have an MPD or use their Maschine if they have in Controller mode alongside their Ren. Really more so on a Ren as it's a better control surface, and more solid. In one thread I explained how Akai's stance that a third party can just sell/invent a controller mode will still require a bit of help on Akai's end the way the Ren/USB/MIDI/Lack of of a way to script a controller mode is ATM.Ī controller mode would be fantastic for all the reasons the Maschine one is. This topic has gotten prior threads and they all came down to what AyePee is saying. I'm sure Ren users would be over the moon with this one Put the controller mode in and pgm to midi and you can take potentially right out of that sentence!

I also tried just tricking it to thinking it was an mpd lol that did not workĪ full controller mode would allow you to be ableton to use the mpc bank buttons as the midi octave kind of like they do in standalone mode or assign things much more easilyĪgain the Ren is potentially the best seq/sampler/controller/software on the market hands down A full on controller surface mode that you can select in say ableton as you can the mpd and others which would allow us to just control what we want as and whenĪlso pgm to midi like the maschine has would be great as you still have a sequencer in a sequencer and the other day I wanted to record my pgm to abletons track and not the mpc but couldn't perform this using the mpc pads I found I could using a keyboard going thru it and could draw them in piano roll but could not just perform on my pads and have it record straight to ableton
